Important Express Entry Update: Job Offer Points Removed
-
Effective Date: March 25, 2025
Effective March 25, 2025, candidates in the Express Entry pool will no longer receive an additional 50 or 200 points for having a job offer. This change applies to all current and future candidates, regardless of the type of job offer LMIA-based or LMIA-exempt job offers.
-
What does this mean for candidates?
Previously, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) awarded additional points for a confirmed job offer. This factor will no longer be taken into account when calculating the final score of Express Entry candidates.
-
Expectations for score update
It may take several days for the system to recalculate your points. If after a week the changes have not been reflected in your profile, it is recommended that you contact IRCC.
-
What remains unchanged?
If a job offer is a requirement for a particular immigration program, the criteria did not change. Applicants must still provide details of job offers in their Express Entry profile to qualify for those programs.
Important: Immigration requirements are constantly changing. The information on this page is current at the time of publication.
