Changes to BC PNP in 2025

In 2025, British Columbia will only invite 1,100 new candidates to apply for a nomination. For comparison, in 2024 the allocation was around 8,000.

Priority will be given to candidates from the field of healthcare, entrepreneurs and specialists with a high economic contribution (only 100 places for more than 10,000 registered).

General or priority targeted occupations invitations are not anticipated in 2025

Applications for the International Post-Graduate (IPG) stream submitted between September 1, 2024 and January 7, 2025 will be placed on a waiting list until more nominations become available.

The stream for IGP students is closed.The launch of three new student streams has been postponed until BC's allocation levels are restored.

The Health Authority Stream now includes only those providing direct health care services (physicians, nurses, etc.), although it previously included all TEERs and all positions.

Early childhood educator assistants are now excluded from targeted positions.

The BC PNP is committed to returning to a 3-month service standard for new applications submitted in 2025.
