Minimum Requirements

To apply for the CEC program, you must meet the following requirements:

Experience. A minimum of 1 year (1560 hours) of skilled work (TEER 0,1,2,3) in Canada within the last 3 years is required. Experience can be gained intermittently and in different occupations. Experience gained while studying in Canada or through self-employment does not count.

Knowledge of language: Knowledge of English or French at the level of CLB 7 for TEER 0, 1 or CLB 5 for TEER 2, 3.

Education: There are no mandatory educational requirements, but having a Canadian degree or recognized foreign equivalent may increase your chances of securing permanent residence.

Financial requirements: Proof of sufficient settlement funds is not required.
