Minimum Requirements

To apply for FSTP, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

Experience. At least 2 years of experience in trades in the last 5 years. Experience can be obtained intermittently and with different employers.

Job offer or qualification certificate. You must have a job offer in Canada for at least 1 year or a certificate of qualification from a Canadian provincial body.

Language skills. Knowledge of English or French (speaking and listening at level CLB 5; writing and reading at level CLB 4)

Financial requirements. If you do not have a job offer, you must prove you have sufficient settlement funds. Read more about financial requirements on the official website.

Education. Proof of education is not required, but having a Canadian or foreign degree can significantly increase your chances.
