BC PNP — is an economic program that allows British Columbia to attract skilled immigrants to meet the province's needs. Successful candidates receive a nomination and apply for permanent residence.

There are 3 main areas of BC PNP:

  • Skills Immigration
  • Entrepreneur Immigration
  • Targeted selections

BC PNPSkills Immigration

1. Skilled Worker:

Suitable for experienced managers, professionals and skilled workers with TEER classifications of 0, 1, 2 and 3.

2. BC Health Authority:

Open to BC provincial health authority workers in any TEER category. No registration is required for this stream. If eligible, nomination is submitted directly to the BC PNP.

3. International Graduate (Graduates of Canadian educational institutions):

For recent graduates of Canadian colleges and universities with TEER 1, 2 and 3 job offers.

4. International Post-Graduate (Masters and Doctors of Science):

For graduates with a master's or doctoral degree from a British Columbia university. This is the only stream that does not require a job offer or language test. There is no registration required either - if you meet the conditions, you can apply directly to the BC PNP for nomination.

5. Entry Level and Semi-Skilled (Low and semi-skilled workers):

For workers in the tourism, hospitality and food industries; includes certain TEER 4 and 5 occupations. Full list of suitable professions.

Basic requirements for all "Skills Immigration" candidates:

  • Valid immigration status
  • Intent to reside, work and establish a permanent residence in British Columbia
  • The candidate's activities must contribute to the economic development of the province through job creation, knowledge transfer and support for major projects.

Requirements for all streams except "International Post-Graduate":

  • Knowledge of English or French. For NOC TEER 2-5 positions, a CLB level of 4 is required in all competencies; for NOC TEER 0 or 1 positions, a language test is not required.
  • A full-time job offer from a British Columbia employer who meets the requirements and supports the permanent residence application. The candidate must also meet the education and experience requirements of the stated NOC.
  • Wages must be in line with market rates and the minimum income must meet certain standards for where you live in British Columbia.

In January 2025, the graduate streams will be replaced by three new ones, each with its own requirements: Bachelor's Stream, Master's Stream, Graduate's Stream. Stay tuned for updates.

BC PNPEntrepreneur Immigration

This stream is aimed at foreign entrepreneurs who want to establish a business that supports innovation and economic growth in British Columbia.

Requirements:

  • Development, registration and business development
  • Personal wealth of at least CAD$600,000; management experience or equivalent education; basic knowledge of English or French at CLB level 4 or higher.
  • A personal investment of at least CAD$$200,000 and the creation of at least one job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

BC PNPPriority industries

The BC PNP also supports priority sectors and holds separate selections for candidates with positions in health care, early childhood education, construction, technology and veterinary science.
