You do not need a job offer to apply for a PGWP, and you can work anywhere in Canada in any industry. This gives you the opportunity to gain valuable Canadian experience that will improve your chances of immigration.<\/p>\n<h2>Who can obtain a PGWP?<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>University graduates who have completed bachelor&#039;s, master&#039;s or doctoral programs.<\/li>\n<li>University or college graduates who have completed programs related to in-demand occupations in the fields of Agriculture, STEM, Healthcare, Trade and Transport. The full list of 980 programs in in-demand occupations is available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/study-canada\/work\/after-graduation\/eligibility.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the official website<\/a> of IRCC.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Requirements for PGWP<\/h2>\n<p>To obtain a PGWP, you must meet the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete a program of study of at least 8 months duration that leads to a degree, diploma or certificate (English or French language courses do not count). The institution must be listed as a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) and the program must be recognized as eligible for a PGWP. Check your program on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/study-canada\/study-permit\/prepare\/designated-learning-institutions-list.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the official website<\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Study full-time for the entire duration of the program, except for official holidays and the last semester.<\/li>\n<li>Complete at least 50% of the program in Canada.<\/li>\n<li>Apply for a PGWP within 180 days of completing your studies.<\/li>\n<li>At the time of application, Student Permit must be valid or expired no earlier than 180 days before application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>New rules coming into force on November 1, 2024<\/h2>\n<p>From 1 November 2024, graduates will also need to demonstrate proficiency in English or French to apply for a PGWP. Language tests must have been taken no more than 2 years before applying.<\/p>\n<p>Level <strong>CLB 7<\/strong> \u2014 for graduates of bachelor&#039;s, master&#039;s and doctoral programs and other university programs.<\/p>\n<p>Level <strong>CLB 5<\/strong> - for graduates of colleges and other programs.<\/p>\n<h3>Approved language tests:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>CELPIP-General<\/li>\n<li>IELTS General Training<\/li>\n<li>PTE Core<\/li>\n<li>TEF Canada<\/li>\n<li>TCF Canada<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Important<\/strong>: PGWP is issued only once, so don&#039;t miss this chance!<\/p>\n<h3>Work permit for spouses<\/h3>\n<p>From 30 April 2024, spouses or common-law partners of students may be granted an open work permit if the student is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Studying for a Master&#039;s degree (program over 16 months).<\/li>\n<li>Studying for a doctorate.<\/li>\n<li>Participates in the pilot program <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/study-canada\/study-permit\/fmc-student-pilot.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot<\/a> or<\/li>\n<li>Studying in one of the following programs at the university:\n<ul>\n<li>Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS, DMD)<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor (LLB, JD, BCL)<\/li>\n<li>Doctor of Medicine (MD)<\/li>\n<li>Doctor of Optometry (OD)<\/li>\n<li>Pharmacy (PharmD, BS, BSc, BPharm)<\/li>\n<li>Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN, BSN)<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc)<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Nursing (BN)<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Education (BEd)<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Engineering (BEng, BE, BASc)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will also be able to bring your children to study in a public school. <strong>Contact us<\/strong>, if you want to learn more about these programs and start your journey to a new life in Canada!<\/p>\n<pre><strong>Important<\/strong>: Immigration requirements are constantly changing.
