In a recent interview with I'm Canada, Immigration Minister Lena Diab shared preliminary details of future TR to PR program.
It is important to understand that at this point these are not official program requirements, but rather general policy directions from the government.
According to the information provided, the program may be targeted at the following categories of applicants:
- Availability of a job offer in Canada
- Work experience in Canada (at least 2 years)
- Living and working in Canada, with potential priority for candidates outside major metropolitan areas (Census Metropolitan Areas, CMA)
According to preliminary data, approximately 33,000 are allocated for the TR to PR program for the period 2026–2027.
